#111 Back Pain Relief                                                                                           October 5, 2014

For me, in my relationship with my Heavenly Father, I’ve had to deal with a certain kind of pain in my upper and lower back.  The lower pain was right at the point where you can lay your palm flat against the middle of your back, just above your waist, when you reach around your side with your arm.  In the upper back it was right at the point where you can lay your palm flat as you reach over your head, just below your neck.  At one time, this simply baffled me.  Days would go by, sometimes weeks or even months, and then out of nowhere, there it was again.  Although it’s certainly not as bad as it once was, if I’m not very, very careful it flares up again.

Galatians 2:20 brought some relief:

I am [was] crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

And Romans 3:21-27 brought even more:

21  But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
22  Even the righteousness of God which is by faith [believing] of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
23  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
24  Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25  Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith [believing] in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26  To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
27  Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith [believing].

I think that what really hit the acupressure points though, so to speak, was what my lord and savior said regarding his Father, the Almighty God, in Matthew 19:16-17:

16  And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
17  And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: . . . [emphasis added].

And also, what God said regarding His Son in Philippians 2:9-11:

9  Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10  That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11  And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

What keeps the pain from coming back is the recognition on my part of I Corinthians 13:9-10 and verse 12:

9  For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
10  But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
12  For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

And  Philippians 3:13-14 brings consistent relief as well:

13  Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14  I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

For me, in my relationship with my Heavenly Father, my back stops hurting - when I stop patting it so hard and instead focus on the grace and love of my Heavenly Father and the marvelously unparalleled accomplished work of His Son, my Lord Jesus Christ.
