 #135 Think About IT                                                                                            March 5, 2017

As I was driving along the other night, I was thinking about Genesis 1:1.

Genesis 1:1  In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Isn’t that marvelous?  No humans, no other spirit beings, only the One True Almighty God acted.  Nothing apart from His Own Nature influenced His actions, no other life form contributed to His decision.  It was the Almighty God alone Who decided His Own course of action.

It reminded me of John 3:16.

John 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not
       perish, but have everlasting life.

God didn’t demand of the first Adam that he fix the mess he had made - “You broke it, now you fix it.”  He so loved that He gave His only begotten Son.  It was a monumental undertaking that took thousands of years to accomplish but He did it and His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, completely accomplished God’s plan of redemption and salvation.

Thinking about John 3:16 reminded me of Ephesians 1:3.

Ephesians 1:3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in
       heavenly places in Christ:

Blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.  Who would have “thunk” it?  Abraham, Moses, David weren’t blessed with all spiritual blessings - but I am.  That’s what God brought to pass in the Administration of the Grace of God in which I live.

And so I thought to myself: “Whose idea was the air I breathe, the physical life I enjoy?”  “Well, self,” I said, “that would be God.”  Continuing, I asked, “Who so loved you and wanted you for His very own child that He gave His only begotten Son to redeem and save you?”  Without pause my self replied to myself, “That would again be God.”  “And Who planned, worked and gave His very best so that you could be blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ?  God!”

Since we seemed to be on a roll, I said, “And how do you know all that?”  Again, without missing a beat, my self replied to myself, “Well, I know it because God explained it in His Word.”

That then reminded me of II Timothy 3:16.

II Timothy 3:16  All scripture is given by inspiration of God [God breathed/God speaking], and is profitable for doctrine, for
reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

How truly amazing that is, I realized.  God Almighty authored and His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, accomplished all of these wonderful realities for me, which I had no part in, wasn’t involved in, in any way in the least ¾ and would have never even known about except for one great reality - God gave me His Word.

That reminded me of II Timothy 2:15.

II Timothy 2:15  Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the
       word of truth.
