#93 All of them are God's Children                                                      December 4, 2011

On November 28th the headline of our local paper read: Feeding the hungry
“Every one of them is God’s children”
Under that grammatically incorrect headline was a picture of a crowd of seemingly poor folks waiting to receive food.

Why didn‘t the headline read, “Every one of them is Allah’s children” or  “Every one of them is Brahman’s children” or more rationally, “Every one of them is human” or “hungry” or both?  It’s very simple.  In education there are the three R’s of reading, riting and rithmetic.  From the standpoint of the media, regarding Christianity, there are the 3 H’s.  If you are hungry, homeless and helpless then that’s the proof you’re a child of the One True God, the God and Father of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Don’t get me wrong.  I’m highly in favor of helping people.  I’ve dedicated my life to it.  But the One True God is only the Father of those whom He has Fathered.  His only begotten Son explained the birth from God to a ruler of the Jews in John chapter 3.
John 3:1-6:
1  There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2  The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no     man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
3  Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again [born from above, born of God], he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4  Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
5  Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6  That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Verse six speaks of two births.  First there is “born of the flesh” and then there is “born of the Spirit”.  That’s two distinct and different births.  Just because you have a human father does not mean you have the One True God as your Father.  A human father can only reproduce in the birth of his child what he is - human.

According to John 4:24, God is Spirit.  He reproduces in His children what He is - spirit.  How does that happen?
1 Peter 1:23:
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

To have God as your Father you must be “born again”.  The corruptible seed is from a human father.  The incorruptible seed is spirit from God, His “incorruptible seed”.  What is the Word of God that enables anyone to be born again of incorruptible seed?
Romans 10:9:
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

How do you absolutely know that you are saved, have God’s gift of holy spirit, that incorruptible seed, that you are a child of God?  Well, if one human wants to know if another human is really their father there is a simple DNA test that will provide absolute proof of that physical relationship by corruptible seed.  By the same token, for the Christian, there is one undeniable proof of the spiritual relationship that they have with their Heavenly Father as His child and that is to manifest His gift of holy spirit, that incorruptible seed, by speaking in tongues.
1 Corinthians 12:3:
Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost [by speaking in tongues].

Here’s an alternate headline to the one I saw in our local newspaper on November 28th:
Humans who have been born again of God’s gift of holy spirit, His incorruptible seed,
“All of them are God’s children”
